hi paul

exercise , diet and stopping smoking would be cutting down yr risk, do you worry about other things too or is it just your health ? do you worry about dying ? maybe your angst about yr health is an avoidance thing if there are other things that are worrying you. have you tried livinglifetothefull.com it gives examples of a five way approach to anxiety and worrying situations. i.e your situation is that you worry about yr health then it shows how this can lead to altered behaviours etc . its great and you may be able to gain some clarity on yr situation x

Hi Paul,

I also suffer from health anxiety, so I know how the worry feels about having ill health. Living more healthily may make you feel better not only by cutting your risk but also by giving you more energy. It's not a guaranteed cure however as I live very healthily and still worry about my health, but you may find being more active at least puts some good energy into your life!

If it is specifically heart trouble, clots etc, you could look at how your diet may help, you may find that this alleviates your anxiety a little. let us know how you get on!
