What happened to the forum?
« on: April 14, 2009, 11:38:49 AM »
Some keen eyed members may have noticed that the forum has been offline for some time now. This has been due to some technical difficulties with our server.

For my fellow geeks out there:

  • The database on the server became corrupted
  • Some of the most recent backups were incomplete (failed decompression CRC check and smaller file size than expected)
  • The server wouldn't accept the upload of working backup without throwing errors and halting the upload

The forum has now been restored with the latest working backup information. The good news is that everything's working nicely now but the slightly bad news is that (literally) a few new members details and some recent posts have been erased in the process.

Best wishes,
Martin  :)
