Music! BAF Spotify playlist.
« on: August 02, 2009, 03:11:27 PM »
Spotify is a great and legal way to listen to free music on your computer. All you need to do is install the Spotify program and have an internet connection. The service is funded by occasional adverts but you can pay to remove these.

What's a Spotify playlist? A playlist allows us to share the music that we love. No, we're not actually swapping the music files, we're just sharing the list and anyone can add their favourite songs or just listen to what we've already got.

Spotify can be downloaded here: http://www.spotify.com then click on this link to see our playlist: http://open.spotify.com/user/sonusthree/playlist/2ZI8m2PwXVnp8lqjJMD5iC

I've started with a few tracks and I hope others will add some too! Maybe, as the list grows, we could add special lists for Metal, Dance, Chill out etc as I think that would be useful.

Martin.  ;D

Never a failure, always a lesson.

I've defiled the playlist a bit. It's a good application and could prove interesting :)

Spotify's great, although I wish Zia would stop interrupting my playlist.

I've added a couple of classics but held off from adding a lot of the heavier stuff.

BTW anyone can remove tracks (I think) so If you find anything offensive just take it off :)

Gotta Gettaway - Stiff Little Fingers
Factory Girl - The Rolling Stones
The Future - Leonard Cohen
Big In Japan - Tom Waits
Heroin - Velvet Underground
La La La Love You - Pixies
Anthrax - Gang of Four
Snap your Fingers Snap your neck - Prong (For James)
Car Song - Woody Guthrie
Lightsaber Cocksucking Blues - Mclusky
Judy Is a Punk - The Ramones
I Like You So Much Better When You're Naked - Ida Maria
Koyaanisqatsi - Philip Glass   The most depressing song ever but makes me smile every time.
IT apparently means: crazy life, life in turmoil, life out of balance, life disintegrating, a state of life that calls for another way of living" so quite apt
Whippin' Picidilly - Gomez
Dog Food - Iggy Pop
Inside Looking Out - Grand Funk Railroad just because it's so dam long

Symphony No. 7 2nd Movement - Beethoven           About the only classical music I know and really like and as our resident classical musician hasn't added anything yet.... (hint hint Alex)
Low Rider - War               Just to lower the tone again  O0

Meh, not a massive fan of Beethoven myself. I find German music, particularly classical and early romantic to be a bit heavy going and notey! I promise I'll put some of my favourites up in a bit, and listen to the rest of it! :)

Yay I love the Tom Waits track!

I've added the second movement of Rachmaninov's second piano concerto. It's amazing. And my favourite piece of all time, Prelude a l'apres-midi d'une faune by Debussy. It is astonishingly beautiful, especially the D flat major section!! AHHHHH ;D
