Tired Eyes

Hi Guys,

Well I've uploaded my web site, which is part of the initiative I am running for the Open Up charity. Although now they can see it they will probably panic and pull out. After all its lottery funded.

The site defends disability claimants, in particular with mental health problems. It shows the history of prejudice against minorities who were accused of 'laziness'. I tried to be professional but typically it all gets lefty and rabble rousing by the end. But that's me!  >:D

Anyway I'd be really interested if anyone would like to take a look and comment, good or bad, I can take it (well not too bad).

Technical help would be useful too, as I've tried it on Firefox and Internet Explorer on my computer but it may not work on older browser versions or operating systems.

cheers Mr Bob

A very good site and cause, sadly support will probably be needed even more with the tories and their plans...

Thanks Howthelightgetsin, much appreciated.

I've added it to it in the last few days as I've discovered rather shocking (but not entirely surprising) studies on suicide that shows a remarkable correlation of rates rising when Conservative Governments are in power, because of market-orientated non-interventionist policies. ie telling people to get work but not offering any schemes to help, while no jobs are available anyway!

I've also studied the main three influential reports on Unemployment in recent years and all them do not address what is effectively a mental health epidemic in the UK.

Pretty tired and anxious though as the anti-benefit anti-disability rhetoric has pushed me into a fight or flight state that has lasted about a week I think, its all been a bit manic. I'm not running, I'm fighting this one!

well I'm 100% behind you. The tories want to make it look like they are being constructive but really they are creating more problems in the long term. It makes me nervous the thought of being forced to do a job when not up to it, its most unhelpful and unsuccessful approach to helping those with mental health issues on benefit get back into work.
