I'm a little old lady
« on: August 21, 2010, 08:36:34 PM »
isn't anxiety friggin' knackering?! I'm so tired I feel like I'm turning into a little old lady (i even have the knitting needles, slippers and blanket  :o )

I'm supposing that living on a diet of caffeine, chocolate, beer and nictone isn't helpful? hmm, must try harder.

*cyclegirl goes off to make a coffee whilst pondering on how best to feel more energised*

Diet of chocolate, coffee and beer (especially this!) is awesome, not one of an old lady.

I do have a bit of "old lady symdrome" where i sit in on Friday night sometimes baking (or trying too) cooking home cooked meal then reading books on poltics to find out the best way in which to take over the world. At least this friday was slightly, very slight better, i went to an old man's pub and played pool

your posts are really cool!

I'm kinda embracing my old-womanhood a bit! It's a fairly recent phenomenon for me but I'm finding that I like nothing better, well almost nothing better than watering my plants, I've a tiny collection on my patio, chilling with a bit of piano based classical music, a good book and a mug of soy hot chocolate, and I want a cat! Eek! But really I make no apologies for these not-so guilty pleasures. Actually I alternate between old person and little kid! As I find myself daily reclaim my inner-tomboy I find myself craving for a skateboard and silly baseball cap, honestly!

Maybe finding the balance is the key (not that i'm well balanced or anything! Hehe), embracing the new and stimulating (Brighton is the perfect location to do this), and luxuriating in the old and familiar and calming without apology.

Maybe you're quite sensitive to the changing seasons? I'm already noticing the night are drawing-in a bit and that often make me feel like going into  hibernation mode. I'm hoping to combat this by starting to take-up meditation again.

And Lizzy, you play pool? Wow! You'll have to teach me someday just watching some peeps in the pub the other day made me think that I would love to learn!

Ludo, you sneak..you got in there as I was trying to post a response! Had all sorts of computer weirdness going on..but its ok, have recovered.

I'd rather be an old lady when I'm an old lady...i refuse to give into elasticated trousers and beige colours just yet (but I do like knitting...badly, but hell can't be good at everything)

I was also hoping to get over my lacklustre diet now that I'm into my wiser older years *grin* clearly not. Occassionally I incoporate pop tarts and super noodles  :o

Liz, I think taking over the world is a nobel way to spend the evening. Do let me know when you find a way to do it, I have a special cyclegirl cape I can throw on to join your campaign  ;D

Glad you like my posts, I have all sorts of random thoughts and head cobwebs lol

I too have problems with the seasons...winter doesn't really agree with me and by Feb I'm generally a ball of shivering misery, hey ho

Ludo i alternate between a little kid and an old woman too often, one minute i will be doing crazy stuff like riding trolleys going to play grounds at 3am ect then i will read/watch factual things, bake, cook ect. Soy hot chocolate sounds good,, never make hot chocolate!!
Not good at pool at all only played about 10 or so times in my life (playing more recently but stil havn't improved!! i can teach you how not to play through!!

Cyclegirl - knitting is cool!! My sister got in to a phase of it a few years back (she was about 20 at the time)
Thanks for joining my campagin, i will have to now work out a way much quicker "thinks"
You have cool random throughts!! As long as you diet is mainly beer and chocolate you have a good diet!!

Lizzy, soy hot choc is easy, I use all soy milk and bring it to the boil in the microwave for 4 sec's then take out, stir in hot choc powder, three heaped teaspoons and sugar and micro for another  1 or 2 sec's, bingo! Hot choc!

As for the pool, yep shall hold you to that lesson when you move to Brighton!
